NOTE: Linkara's, Will Wolfgram's and Amethyst's riffs are voiceovered.
(As a guitar playing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" plays in the background, we see the Atop the Fourth Wall title with snow falling around it. Then we fade through black to Linkara at his kitchen stove as he preparing to pop some microwave popcorn in a pan. He is wearing Freddy Krueger's sweater instead of his traditional outfit. He glances over his shoulder to see that he's on camera.)
Linkara: Oh, hi, there! Didn't see you come in. Probably because I'm talking to a camera. You know, I'm just standing here in my Freddy Krueger sweater and my traditional Christmas meal, microwave popcorn in a pan on the stove, and I got to thinking to myself, I should give you guys a little Christmas treat this year. So, I went out to get myself a true holiday classic for us to riff on today. Unfortunately, I couldn't secure the rights to that, so instead, we are getting the very first sound version of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol", aptly titled Scrooge! Today, we are joined in the riff theater by Will Wolfgram, who you might know as Jaeris the Gunslinger, or Snowflame, or the guy who plays the physical body of Lord Vyce because I'm too overweight, and, of course, by Amethyst, the voice of Nimue and my prop maker. Sit back, relax, and enjoy this festive holiday tale of death, ghosts, and other unspeakable horrors.
(The film opens on a shot of the British Board of Film Censors, which states that this movie passed with a U rating (for "universal").)
Linkara: Ah, my favorite Christmas movie, The British Board of Film Censors.
Will: Isn't this the one where at the end of the film, the censors learn the true meaning of Christmas and decide to stop censoring work?
Linkara: You know it.
(The film then dissolves to a shot of a book labeled "Twickenham Film Distributors present Seymour Hicks in Scrooge". It is transparent as it is visible over a bookshelf full of other books.)
Amethyst: So, why is there a ghostly apparition of a book over books?
Linkara: Well, to avoid appearing racist, this movie's version of Marley is played by a book.
(The book bearing the title disappears as a hand reaches into the frame and takes out a random book, holding it up to the camera.)
Will: Behold, hardcover binding!
