Doug: You know, I was asking myself: "Does this count? Does this really count as an animated short?" And then I realize: "It's my goddamn show. I'll do whatever I want." I wanna talk about "Pink Elephants on Parade"!
Doug (vo): This is a segment from the movie Dumbo, released in 1941.
Doug: It's one of my favorite all-time Disney things ever. I'm so excited to talk about it. Let's take a look.
(The segment starts with a bubble taking on the shape of an elephant.)
Doug (vo): So we should talk about...
Doug: ...one of the biggest things that gets brought up when this sequence gets brought up. Uh, which is that your main protagonist, a cute little boy elephant, gets drunk.
Doug (vo): And "pink elephants", of course, is a euphemism for being drunk. Because if you get too schlockered, you -- you know, apparently...
Doug: ...see pink elephants or -- or you don't see right. But this sequence -- anyone that's been drunk knows this is not drunk.
Doug (vo): This is what happens when you trip balls.
Doug: But I guess back in the day, it wasn't as offensive to have your young main character get drunk instead. So, okay, priorities.

Singer: ♪ I am not the type to faint when things are odd... ♪

Singer: ♪ I can stand the sight of worms and look at microscopic germs... ♪
